Sharp Electronics will release their first Blu-ray player, the BD-HP20S, this fall. The player will output 1080p at 24fps (and 60fps) and supports Dolby TrueHD. Additionally, the player will come equipped with HDMI v1.3 as well as 5.1 analog outs.

An interesting feature is a Quick Start option which will have the disc playing in a matter of seconds, very similar to the start-up times consumers are accustomed to with today’s DVD players. This is a totally new player from a long time Blu-ray supporter.
