LG is preparing an internal optical drive that can read both Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs as well as Blu-ray writer capable of 6x burn speeds.

Both the Blu-ray 6x writer (GGW-H20LI) and the dual optical drive unit (GGC-H20LI) can read and write a full range of CD and DVD formats. And, the ???LI??™ suffix suggests that both drives will support LightScribe technology for etching labels on compatible media.

The 6x BD writer is expected to be priced $499 while the optical drive unit will be $399.
