Onkyo, Japan company, has announced of its DV-HD806 HD-DVD player, which based on Toshiba’s the HD-XE1.

The player will feature a similar Ethernet and Internet ports to the Toshiba model. But Onkyo is keen to point out that it’s added a few enhancements along the way with a specification that includes support for 1080p 24fps and lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio bitstream pass through modes ??“ features that will be included in Toshiba??™s next range of HD-DVD players.

The Onkyo’s DV-HD806 will initially be launched in the US this autumn priced around $900.
